Miscellanea
Sep. 26th, 2006 10:56 pmThe Fountain Court in Somerset House is my new favourite place in the whole of London. We went there for the kick off of The Big Draw and had a great time drawing, hanging out and, in Small's case, stripping down to her undies and playing in the fountains along with apparently every other child in London. For Tiny the highlight was going on Underground Train!!!!! and he has demanded it several times since (especially when we pass a tube station of course, which is quite often).
Small and I also went to a teeny cut down version of Colourscape (no, not the one where the people died, I think that was Dreamscape) at the Stockwell Festival which was quite fun - we'll do the full scale one on Clapham Common again next year I guess, but He has officially cried off, as it screws his eyes up for hours afterwards.
Small has picked exactly the wrong time to need a new car seat as the new laws mean that the ones we want seem to be sold out. Over the years we have spent over a thousand pounds on transportation devices (not counting the cars of course), and have the equipment necessary to transport eleven children - what's really scary is that if I had to do it again I'd buy pretty much all of them again - every piece of kit was actually necessary. But I'd buy a lot more of it second hand (I'm helping out at my local NCT Nearly New Sale in a couple of weeks (which means I get to be first in the queue for the goodies) and I cannot recommend them too highly) except for the car seats which you're officially discouraged from buying used in case it's been in an accident - which means I can't sell the old ones on of course - (except to people who know I wouldn't lie to them) anyone want to buy a Group 1 car seat?

Car seat
Date: 2006-09-27 08:34 am (UTC)Yes, it's 9 months-4 yearsish, front facing with a five point harness - a Maxi-Cosi Priori XP - about 3 years old, but it was top of the Which? safety ratings when we bought it. Not heavily used and never been in a crash of course.
I was thinking of charging 25 quid. You'd have to collect it by car of course because a) it weighs a tonne and b) you'd need to be sure it fitted your car, but it would be nice for you to come round for tea - we've never met Kei (or you I think).
