On Saturday we celebrated the weather by tripping into town to toddle up the South Bank in search of buskers.
The highlights for the adults were:
a) the whizz-bang new bus shelter at Vauxhall, which has guaranteed my vote for Ken Livingstone for the next election - how often do you get to say - what's that extraordinary glam new structure? it's a bus stop, b) a busker doing extremely accomplished contact juggling. We watched, rivetted, for ages, but it was't until I googled "floating ball illusion juggling" to find the link above that I realised where I'd seen it before - it's what David Bowie appears to be doing in the very wonderful Labyrinth.

But our Phil & Ted's Explorer double buggy made us a tourist attraction in our own right. They're so common in Clapham/Brixton that no-one gives us a second glance, so I always forget that the natives of Diss, Norfolk and Bremen, Texas who clog up the streets of W1 find them quite exotic. It always takes me a while to notice that we're attracting nudges and stares (and the occasional comment or question), but once I've realised it becomes quite distracting (though not unpleasant). This is what it must be like to be a minor celebrity, those of you who make less conservative wardrobe/hairstyle choices than we do probably get it all the time.
