My parents have just rung up somewhat anxiously, having heard on the BBC that there have been massive riots in Clapham.

Had to explain to them that no, that was Battersea - 30 minutes brisk walk away. The might of the BBC apparently unable to understand that Clapham Junction =/= Clapham High Street. Unsurprisingly our local paper (The Guardian) is reporting correctly.

Brixton quietish last night, though I decided it was best not to leave the milk bottles out for the milkman just in case, and he decided understandably not to do his rounds.

I believe the estate agents know it as "South Chelsea".

FYI, you were probably wise to demur about the Proms on Friday. I gather someone turned up around 4pm and didn't get in. Hope you enjoyed it on the TV as I did.
