Two things that made me go "Goodness Me!"
Sep. 8th, 2006 07:59 pmThe Guardian has informed me of the wonderful fact that the Green Door of Shakin Stevens fame was in fact the door to a lesbian bar - hence the author's failure to gain admission.
The Radio Times had a ho hum humorous space filler about possible sequels to defunct sit-coms following the tragic recommissioning of The Green Green Grass which did come up with a gem - "Bernard Woolley is about to retire as head of the civil service, which he has benignly run for the past 20 years. But his final months become a nightmare when a new spin doctor is appointed to number 10 - yes, it's Malcolm Tucker." I would pay good money to see that commissioned.
Oh, and The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain are on The Story Of Light Entertainment this Saturday, 21;15, BBC2, doing Smells Like Teen Spirit. It's an hour and a half long, and I have no idea when The Ukes are on, but the series has been pretty entertaining and informative so far, and hey, it would be worth sitting through an hour and a half of Birds Of A Feather for music like that.
