The kids need their passports renewing, Small has just taken her first sets of SATS.

When I try to look at paperwork with my glasses on I involuntarily tilt my head up and squint down underneath my glasses - I think I need bifocals.

He went to the barbers and they offered to shave his ears.

We are no longer sleeping on a floor level futon.

In a few weeks time there will no longer be a single wall in the entire house which I have painted myself.

I miss Woolworths, god how I miss Woolworths. Every thing I reach out for reminds me that once it was here and now it's gone - cutlery, mugs, bins, bath mats, stationery, toys, school uniforms. To the growing list of Things You Can No Longer Buy In Clapham Or Brixton I can now add black poster paint, which we needed for Small's school project. Brixton Market has the uncanny ability to supply everything you could possibly want in the whole world (what is that fish? why are the pigs trotters that colour? what do they do to Pandan cake that makes it stay bouncy for months?) except for the precise thing you actually do want.
